Today April 26 would have been my brothers birthday he left this world Feb. 02 09. Ron , was the last of my family my grief is still raw. He, was ill for a long time with alzheimers but at least I was able to visit him and tell him I loved him. I, believe he knew when I was there as he would open his eyes and at times give a little smile. My, loved ones will always be in my heart. Priscilla

This is one of the most touching stories I have ever read. I had not heard about this ritual, but I have always been very unsure about ice and embalming to preserve a body. Thank you for sharing this - I am touched, and it has given me plenty to think about and discuss with my family.
