Scott Preston Horsley II (1965-1983)
Today is April 2nd. Scott and Matthew were killed on this day one minute before Easter. That was 23 years ago. It is hard to believe that the boys would be forty-one today. We will always remember them with such love. My friend Dinah Taylor sent me this wonderful poem. Such love to care so much for others. Dr. Gloria
Dear Gloria,
Remembrance
You can shed tears that he is gone,
Or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes
And pray that he’ll come back,
Or you can open your eyes
And see all he has left.
You heart can be empty
Because you can’t see him,
Or you can be full of
The love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow
And live yesterday, or you
Can be happy for tomorrow
Because of yesterday.
You can remember him
And only that he’s gone,
Or you can cherish
His memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
Be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what he’d want:
Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Love from a fellow traveler,

I truly believe on 04/02/1983 that Scott was welcomed by family and our children.
Scott will also be remembered on 07/11/1965
Love,
Dinah
I want to tell you that your blog and your radio shows have really helped me heal in my grief. I want to thank you for helping others. Scott and Matthew will never be forgotten because you have shared their lives with so many who are dealing with their personal loss. They must have been great young men. They would have been proud of you and the work you are doing. Thank you so much again.
